De afgelopen jaren hebben wij een wat ambivalente relatie ontwikkeld met social media. Aan de ene kant is het een mooie manier om ideeën, artikelen en ontdekkingen te delen. Aan de andere kant voelt het vaak als een stroom van losse fragmenten: berichten die voorbij komen, even aandacht krijgen en vervolgens weer verdwijnen in de tijdlijn. Terwijl veel van wat ons bezighoudt juist vraagt om samenhang, verdieping en context.
Tijdens het onderzoek voor onze boeken verzamelen wij veel meer materiaal dan uiteindelijk in een publicatie terechtkomt. Die “bijvangst” bestaat uit bijzondere bronnen, historische verbanden, opmerkelijke observaties en vragen die soms minstens zo interessant zijn als het oorspronkelijke onderwerp.
Daarom zijn we begonnen met VAMzzz Bulletin in het Nederlands én Engels.
Geen dagelijkse updates, maar een redactionele nieuwsbrief waarin we thema’s uitwerken, archiefmateriaal opnieuw belichten en verbanden leggen tussen onderwerpen als mystiek, folklore, esoterie, geschiedenis, symboliek en andere terreinen van het occulte.
Over the past few years, we have developed a somewhat ambivalent relationship with social media. On the one hand, it is a wonderful way to share ideas, articles, and discoveries. On the other hand, it often feels like a stream of disconnected fragments: posts that briefly attract attention before disappearing into the timeline. Yet much of what occupies us calls for coherence, depth, and context.
During the research for our books, we gather far more material than eventually finds its way into a publication. This “by-catch” consists of remarkable sources, historical connections, intriguing observations, and questions that are sometimes just as interesting as the original subject itself.
That is why we started VAMzzz Bulletin in Dutch and English.
Not a stream of daily updates, but an editorial newsletter in which we explore themes in greater depth, revisit archival material, and draw connections between subjects such as mysticism, folklore, esotericism, history, symbolism, and other areas of the occult.
